The perfect liquid eye liner

As a self-confessed liquid eye liner addict, this is one step I hardly ever leave out of my daily make-up routine. I love finishing an eye make-up application with a bold an intense liquid line on the top eyelid, completed with lots of volumising, and lengthening mascara. It creates the illusion of thick eyelash roots and frames the eye beautifully, while also lengthening the eye area.

Here are a few products to help you achieve the perfect liquid eye liner.

I have always favoured the MAC Fluidline Eyeliner gel applied with a thin eyeliner brush to create the perfect liquid line. After 10 years as a make-up artist I have mastered applying a straight evenly applied line. However, I find that this is one of the hardest techniques for ladies to learn how to do.

Fortunately for us product houses have finally realised this and come up with a felt tip pen design which allows for easy eye liner application. Now anyone can achieve a flawless liquid line.

I decide to review the two liquid eyeliner pens below, here are my thoughts.

Essence Eyeliner Pen (black) R47.95

The formula is highly pigmented and creates an intense black line. The felt tip is very thin which allows for precise application close to the eyelash roots.

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen (black) R125

The formula is very long lasting and stays on for most of the day. The felt tip is a bit thicker than other pens, which I personally like, to create a bolder line.
