What cuts, colour and styling trends will be dominating this winter?
Replacing the Ombré trend is colour blocking, as seen in fashion, and therefore following in hair trends. Hair is one strong colour or strong panels or blocks of colour. Vibrant colours are used for this trend replacing the more natural colour used in the Ombré trend. Both Prada and Chanel embraced this trend in their latest campaigns. Models had super sleek hair or bobs in strong solid colours such as copper, bleached blonde or a violet hue. Bleaching is huge at the moment!
It is definitely the season to try something a bit shorter, whether it’s a bob or a boyish crop. Celebrities like Mylie Cyrus, Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams are driving this trend and more, and more clients are coming in asking for a major chop.
The hot way to style hair at the moment is retro glamour; 50s inspired looks or embracing the 90s revival of super sleek and ironed hair.
Are pastel tones still featuring in the wintery months?
Pastel hues is one trend that seems to be getting stronger, driven by social media like Instagram and Pinterest, as well as celebrities like Kelly Osbourne and Nicole Richie. The consumer is getting more used to unusual colours and it’s now more acceptable to embrace these tones. Baby blue and indigo blue are replacing pink and violet as the winter pastel trend.
